Malik’s research focus is body weight and diabetes management in adolescents and adults. He has served as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Sports Sciences for Health, an Associate Editor for the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) Journal, and reviewer for two chapters in the Health Professional’s Guide to Dietary Supplements text for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (2024). Malik has trained and worked in adult weight management since 2007. He has been featured as a content expert in over 70 different media outlets (print, radio, podcast, and television). He has served as an Expert Panel Member for the Academy’s Adult Weight Management Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice Guideline Committee and currently serves on the Obesity Advisory Group for the Commission for Dietetic Registration. Malik received his BA in psychology and social behavior from the University of California, Irvine, and master’s and doctorate degrees in public health from Loma Linda University. |
