Neal Malik, DrPH, RDN, CHES, ACSM-EP


Current Position: Assistant Professor, California State University, San Bernardino, CA

Malik’s current focus is body weight and diabetes management in adolescents and adults. He has served as a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Sports Sciences for Health, is an Associate Editor for the California Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (CAHPERD) Journal, and editor for two chapters in the upcoming Health Professional’s Guide to Dietary Supplements text for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (in press). Malik has trained and worked in adult weight management for over 14 years. He has been featured as a content expert in over 70 different media outlets (print, radio, podcast, and television). He is currently serving as an Expert Panel Member for the Academy’s Adult Weight Management Evidence-Based Nutrition Practice Guideline Committee. Malik received his BA in psychology and social behavior from the University of California, Irvine, and master’s and doctorate degrees in public health from Loma Linda University.
