Molly Wong-Vega, MS, RDN, CSP, CSSD, LD


Wong-Vega’s primary emphasis is on improving patient outcomes in critical care nephrology. She has 15 years of clinical experience in providing nutrition therapy for children with renal disease. She has published on protein metrics in continuous renal replacement therapy. Her current lines of research includes physical activity in children with chronic kidney disease and muscle wasting and weakness in acute kidney injury. She has been a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Renal Nutrition and Nutrition in Clinical Practice for the last 5 years. Wong-Vega has co-authored on the prevalence and practices of pediatric malnutrition coding and was part of The Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics evidence based work group analysis on nutrition screening in pediatrics. Wong-Vega received a Bachelor of Science degree in nutritional sciences from Texas A&M University, a Master’s degree in nutrition from Texas Woman’s University and her doctorate in Kinesidology with an emphasis in exercise physiology from the University of Houston.
