The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Clinical Content Strategy team is soliciting candidates for the Editor in Chief (EIC) position of the Pediatric Nutrition Care Manual® (PNCM®). This is a paid position with contract continually renewed for subsequent one-year terms, for up to five years beginning November 1st. The weekly time commitment ranges from 2 to 4 hours. A description of the job follows:
PNCM EIC duties
- Serve as chair of the PNCM® Board of Editors
- Assist in identification of qualified authors and reviewers as needed
- Evaluate peer review feedback and provide clear guidance for authors
- Review content for accuracy, consistent coverage, tone, and clarity
- Issue final approval on all new content
- Provide feedback regarding content proposals including but not limited to topic priority, practice tool priority (eg, calculators, formulary), and resources priority
- Assist with the creation of practice tools as needed
- Contribute to strategic plans for future updates of PNCM®
- Identify areas for product improvement
- Participate in at least quarterly calls with Academy staff to discuss product-related topics
- Participate in quarterly calls with PNPG and Academy staff to discuss product-related topics
- Lead biannual virtual meeting with Board of Editors
- Assist in responding to user feedback as needed
Expertise required:
- Registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) with minimum of 8 years of experience in practice and/or research
- Advanced degree (masters, PhD) or 10 years of experience in lieu of an advanced degree
- Board Certification as a Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP) or CSP-eligible with CSP credential obtained within 1 year of hire
- Broad experience in major pediatric nutrition topic areas
- Previous experience writing or reviewing peer-reviewed publications
- Use/familiarity with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Evidence Analysis Library and Nutrition Care Process
- Knowledge of PNCM® usage in practice
- Strong communication and relationship skills
- Knowledge of tenets of cultural competency
- Proficiency in MS Office and software programs
