Amy Kovar Resnik, MS, RD, LDN, IBCLC

 

Current Position: State Breastfeeding Coordinator, Maryland WIC Program 

Amy Resnik, a Registered Dietitian and International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant, has worked in pediatric nutrition and breastfeeding services for over 35 years.  She supervises State WIC Breastfeeding Services staff, leads staff across Maryland to enthusiastically promote breastfeeding and assist breastfeeding families, and oversees ongoing training for experienced staff.  She also participates in breastfeeding-related research/publications. Amy has developed and implemented multiple breastfeeding trainings for new WIC staff, hospital maternity nursing staff, and physicians.  Her trainings have been widely viewed nationally and internationally. She is active in the Maryland Breastfeeding Coalition, serving in various leadership capacities.  She serves on the National WIC Association Breastfeeding Section Standing Committee and is a PNPG mentor. Amy obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from Rush University.  Her honors include RYDY (1994), ODY (2021), and the National WIC Association Lifetime Leadership Award (2024).
